So you are an exercise enthusiast. You understand that you need proper nutritional supplementation in order to achieve your fitness goals. Unfermented Soy contains high levels of Phytic acid. This acid inhibits absorption of several minerals iron, zing, magnesium and calcium. This acid is found in the bran of all legumes, but specifically high in soybeans.

Though there are many who believe that soy contains estrogen-like properties. This effect is strictly tissue specific. In test (animal) subjects it showed no changes in testosterone, testicular and prostate size, DHEAS, etc. with supplementation of soy protein.

It is comparable in price to whey protein and is very easily absorbed in water. This is important if you are a protein-shake on the go type.

Soy protein supplements are a great whey way to get your protein requirements without resorting to animal sources. Vegans may now rejoice!
